The Athletic Department is an integral part of the total educational process of Archbishop Spalding High School. Being involved in athletics provides our students with opportunities to develop leadership skills and to learn the ideals of fair play and ethical behavior which are necessary for competition and cooperation in our society. Archbishop Spalding High School encourages all students to participate in athletics by offering a well‐rounded program of interscholastic athletics for both young men and women. Athletics, which are regulated to meet educational objectives, can provide a major contribution to the physical and moral development of students. Whittles Field was renovated with new turf in 2018. The site boasts a 2,000 person stadium and large jumbotron as well as a fully stocked concession stand and restroom facilities
Archbishop Spalding is proud to have 30 athletic programs and a rich history of success. Our teams compete in the IAAM for girls sports and MIAA for boys sports in the “A” or “B” divisions. Every sport boasts a championship, with the most recent addition being our 2019 Women’s Ice Hockey title.
